Background:
James R. Urquhart III has a B.A. degree from the University of California (Davis campus) and a law degree (Juris Doctor) from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (Sacramento, California, USA).
He grew up in California and lived with his wife and their two children in Orange County, California, before moving to the desert in 2007. Jim and and his wife, Deborah, live in the north Indio subdivision of Sun City Shadow Hills by Del Webb. They also own investment, residential real estate (an REO purchase) in the north Indio subdivision of Talavera.
Jim developed a love of the desert as a child. Every holiday season his parents would take him to the desert to visit his grandparents who were early residents of Palm Desert. He loved to visit the Shadow Mountain Club where his grandparents were members.
According to Jim, “I have many great childhood memories of the natural beauty of the desert, like the beautiful mountains, a glimpse of a humming bird, a road runner, or a lizard, motionless, on a warm, sunlit rock.” At age 11 he became a ham radio operator and used Morse code to talk with people all over the world with his 50 watt, home made, Heathkit transmitter that his father helped him build. His amateur ham radio call sign was, and still is, WB6FSJ.
Jim and his lovely wife Deborah have been married for 32 years. Deborah is a speech pathologist with the Desert Sands Unified School District. They have two children Barbara (a teacher in Orange County, California) and Jimmy. Jimmy (known professionally as James) is now a licensed real estate agent and is part of The JAMES Team.
Jim has run a successful law practice since 1977. He is a trial and tax attorney and brings to the table decades of experience working with clients to get the best result possible from their transaction. He is dedicated to his clients, whether in law or in real estate. He enjoys real estate matters and possibly got that from his parents, both of whom were real estate agents.
